This was my first time writing and directing anything. My film school was the behind the scene features on how those movies were made found on some of my favorite movies that had them.  A true nerd I was a study and decided to roll the dice on testing my influences on my own creation.

It's not my place to say if I got it right or not as I can only voice that I am truly satisfied with the end result and proud. The public will make the final decision if I got this right or not. Sink or swim as they say and...here...we...go!

]]><![CDATA[Pinball Wizard]]>Wed, 14 Mar 2012 07:19:48 -0800http://www.theperfects.com/1/post/2012/03/pinball-wizard.htmlAs many of my friends have been consumed by the world Bethesda Games has created with the game Skyrim I have become victim to a most unlikely time sink, Marvel Pinball. Free as a download for PSNplus subscribers it was merely a download to just try it out and see how the physics were compared to the real thing. Little did I know that what was about to happen. 

You see I love video games and I have always been a fan of pinball. There is something about standing in front of a large machine of wood, plastic and metal while you press in the flippers and knock the table trying to outdo the last high score or in my case just trying to outdo myself. Marvel Pinball by Zen captures the experience much better then I expected and offering up slices of comic book lore that includes missions against foes from some of my favorite Marvel Heroes. Spiderman, Blade, Ghost Rider, Xmen and Wolverine make up the lot of some of my favorite tables. 

The tables are designed to represent each Marvel Hero in fantastic detail. The physics stay true to the nature of a real table even offering up the ability to tilt. Then if you really want to have some fun you can go into the utilities settings and make adjustments to ramp up the challenge or if you find you're not keeping in step and want to go easy you can lower the challenge ti allow your skill set some additional training before stepping back into the factory settings (this is the only way to have your high score ranked as any tinkering one way or another excludes it).

Not ending the pinball mania I was informed that Baltimore now is home to The Pinball Museum! I have yet to check it out but expect to spend at least a full day there since they offer packages with admission which allows you to play as much as you want in hourly

Yes this is supposed to be the year where the world as we know it will end according to the Mayans right? What this will actually be is another Y2K scenario as 12.21.12 approaches. Do not underestimate the power of  stupidity of those who will buy into the constant media assault that's coming about that day being the final day of the world.

Some may remember that there were actually those who went out and built full scale bunkers in 1999 leading up to 2000 thinking that all the computers would come crashing down drowning the entire world into the dark ages of chaos with one turn of the internal clock. Expect that to happen again. Oh boy!

Don't believe the hype.

Then we have to deal with the Presidential election. Yeah.

It's going to be a long year.

On the bright side though, a new Paper Mario game will be released on the 3DS.

]]><![CDATA[Gordon Ramsey's "Kitchen Nightmares" at Cafe Hon]]>Sun, 06 Nov 2011 23:05:37 -0800http://www.theperfects.com/1/post/2011/11/gordon-ramseys-nightmare-kitchens-at-cafe-hon.htmlOut of left field I got a call the other night with an invitation from my sound man to participate in the TV show "Kitchen Nightmares" with Gordon Ramsey. This was the filming for the show before the entrance of the grand master chef and his grandiose shenanigans (from what I've heard) that transform a failing restaurant into hopefully a success  before television audiences. So the deal was me and 3 friends dine and describe our experience while camera crews film the entire thing.

Let me first point out that I've actually never seen the show. Even though I have heard of Gordon Ramsey I had no idea what he looked or what to expect going into it. My only interest and desire was to leave hopefully my mark with what would help turn our local diner that tries to mask itself as a cultural experience into something more then feeling like you just shoveled out a fine dining expense for what equates to a cafeteria meal that is last weeks left overs. That pretty much sums it up in terms of the food. Not to mention I have a vested personal interest in seeing this place transformed into something decent food wise since it's a block from my house.

Guess this means I am going to have to watch the show to see what I just subjected myself to.

You know things like "Call Failed" which is my favorite feature from the company that provides me with service. Although one side says it's the phone and the other side says it's the service. Still I do not need the Iphone 5 no matter what it does.

One of those things is my personal love for the Mortal Kombat video game series. The latest incarnation is by far the best of the series. So much so it compelled me to order a fight stick that is modeled after the original arcade cabinet. The Klassic Stick seen below really gives any fan the real arcade feel at home. It also comes with a download code for the original arcade classics MK, MKII, UMK3. The stick is limited to 6000 and available on the 360 & PS3. I have the PS3 version but being the nerd I am I also have the same stick for the 360 since I have friends that play the game on both systems. So if you are game and want to challenge me you can find me XBOXlive under my gamertag 'opalsuns' and on the PSN under 'the_perfects' GET OVER HERE!
